Recreational Activities:

Every day students have the opportunity to enjoy Taunton School’s superb sports facilities which include an indoor heated swimming pool, and outdoor heated swimming pool, a fitness gym, three sports halls, extensive playing fields and numerous tennis courts. A full programme of activities and excursions is organised by experienced, well-qualified staff and students are supervised at all times.

Sports:

Each day there is a wide range of organised and supervised sports on offer for everyone.

Evening Activities:

Each day there is a wide range of organised and supervised activities on offer for everyone.

  • Bouncy castle
  • Skittles / Bowling
  • Craft evenings
  • Talent and singing competitions
  • Shopping trips
  • Golf
  • Beach games and surfing 
  • Ice-skating

After an activity there is usually free time so that students can relax with their friends.
Students will go on an excursion on a Saturday and sometimes as part of their lessons.

Weekend Excursions:

 Here are examples of some of the excursions that we offer:

  • Exeter - lively cathedral city
  • Plymouth - strategic naval port from 16th century
  • Bristol - important commercial centre of the South West
  • Glastonbury - home of the legendary King Arthur
  • Longleat - on safari at an English stately home
  • Cardiff - vibrant Welsh capital
  • Bournemouth - lively, cosmopolitan seaside town
  • Thorpe Park – Fantastic amusement park, fun guaranteed!
  • Drayton Manor – Zoo and Theme Park
  • London - history, culture & excitement in the capital**

Travel, food and group activities are included in the course fees. Drinks and souvenirs are extra.

** There is a weekend excursion to London on Saturday 21st July which is available for students staying for six weeks. However, students on the first three week course, aged 14+, can depart on 23/07/07 for an additional £150.
