Boarding and Pastoral

At TISC we place a great deal of emphasis on providing excellent pastoral care, with our supportive and caring staff available 24 hours a day.  We want to help students to adjust to boarding school life in a small, safe and friendly environment.

Students live in comfortable boarding houses on campus and are cared for by friendly and dedicated staff. 

Bedrooms are usually allocated on an age basis with the older students having their own single study bedroom and the younger students sharing in mixed nationality bedrooms. We guarantee that all students over the age of 12 will be in a mixed nationality bedroom. The bedrooms are comfortable and well equipped.

The school provides three hot meals a day for students in Taunton School’s dining room. The food is offered as a buffet selection and includes fresh vegetables, fruit and desserts. There is plenty of choice so all diets such as vegetarian and Halal are catered for.

There is a Medical Centre on Taunton School’s campus which provides 24 hour medical care. All TISC students are able to see a doctor or a nurse if they are feeling unwell. All of the staff at TISC are also first aid trained.

We know that students often like to keep in touch with their friends and family at home; we have public telephones in each of the boarding houses and we sell phone cards so students can make cheap calls home.

Students are given email and internet access and they are able to use TISC’s excellent IT facilities.
