If students wish to take a GCSE in a subject not offered above, we can arrange tuition at an extra charge. It is also possible to take English GCSE as a First Language if a student's level of English is good enough.
Depending on their level of English, students take up to 7 of these subjects and study for 32 hours per week, with an additional 9 hours of homework set per week, in small classes (maximum 10 students per class) with curriculum specialist teachers.
Pre-IB students will need to take at least one science subject and at least one humanities subject to ensure that they are prepared for the greater range of the IB.
As part of the pre-IB course, students are expected to complete GCSE coursework, field work and independent investigations, with the help of their teachers. To be able to do all this in one year instead of the normal two years, we have a longer Spring term for our pre-IB students. Students wishing to join our pre-IB course may be asked to complete an English test when they register with us. |
