› What the students at TISC said about their year at TISC 2006/07
In the end of year feedback questionnaire 97% of students said they felt their English had improved during their time at TISC. Most students said they appreciated the care and support of their teachers.
Some of their comments were:
- I start to talk easily in English
- I think my writing has improved a lot. I am using more vocabulary and making less mistakes
- I am more confident when I speak and I write better sentences
- When I first time came to TISC I could not say a sentence and understand someone as well. But now my English is almost perfect.
Students also enjoyed their experience in the boarding houses. They all said that they had made special friends at TISC
Some comments were:
- I have photos and memories from the boarding house.
- I really love my house
- Excellent house staff in Excalibur
- This year Avalon has been great, all people were nice to each other
- We were like a big family and I loved it
- My house tutor is friendly and kind
- I enjoyed sitting in the garden talking and laughing with my friends
- I had an amazing year at TISC and I really like it here.’
Over 85% of students said that TISC had helped them to prepare for their next school.
Some comments were:
- This school makes you stronger and adapt you for life
- I learnt how to get on well with people who are from a different nationality with me.
- TISC improved my English and I will study easier in GCSE course
- I learnt many things and subjects which I will need in my next school
- I’ve learnt lots of cultural things and social skills
- Without TISC I wouldn’t be able to go to any other school. Big thanks to Mrs Nixon.
- I can work by myself and my organisation has improved.
