Guardians

Guardians also have an important pastoral role to play. Each student whose parents live overseas must have an adult guardian in the UK, who agrees to be responsible for that student on behalf of the parents. A guardian may be a relative, friend of the family or a guardian agency.

It is hoped that guardians will keep in regular contact with their student but in particular a guardian is required to...

... be available to accommodate a pupil in an emergency and/or
... be available to accommodate a pupil at half term holidays, unless the parents have made alternative arrangements
... organise travel arrangements for the beginning of term, end of term and half terms and if necessary, to arrange overnight accommodation to cover time spent between leaving or arriving at school, and the departure or arrival of flights
... to liaise routinely with the school over pastoral matters and keep regular contact with parents.
