How to get to TISC

The closest airport to TISC is Bristol Airport (50 minutes by car), you can also use London Heathrow (1 hour 40 minutes by train and 2 hours 30 minutes by car) or Gatwick Airport (3 hours and 30 minutes by car). Please see below for directions.

Directions from Bristol Airport

By road

If you are travelling by car from Bristol Airport, take the A38 from the airport towards Weston super Mare.  As you approach Weston super Mare you will see signs for the M5 motorway going south (Junction 22).  Follow these signs and join the M5 motorway.   Leave the M5 motorway at Junction 25.  Follow the dual carriageway signposts to Taunton Town Centre.  When you come to the traffic lights at the Creech Castle, go straight ahead and then get into the righthand lane and turn right at the next roundabout (Wickes DIY Store).  Go over the O’Bridge viaduct (over the railway line) and turn left at the roundabout at the bottom.  Follow the signs for the A358 to Minehead.  After about one and a half miles you will pass Taunton School on your left and then an Esso Petrol Station.  The Study Centre can be found immediately after the Esso Petrol Station on the right.  The journey takes about 50 minutes from Bristol Airport to the Study Centre.

By train

If you are travelling by train from Bristol Airport, you should catch the Flight Link Bus from outside the Terminal Building, which will take you to Bristol Templemeads Railway Station.  From Bristol Templemeads Station you can catch a train to Taunton which will take about 40 minutes.  From Taunton Station take a 5-minute taxi ride to the Study Centre situated at 210 Greenway Road.

Directions from London Heathrow Airport

By road

If you are travelling by car from London Heathrow Airport , you should follow the signs for the south west which will take you onto the M4 and M5 motorways.  Leave the M5 motorway at Junction 25.  Follow the dual carriageway signposts to Taunton Town Centre.  When you come to the traffic lights at the Creech Castle, go straight ahead and then get into the righthand lane and turn right at the next roundabout (Wickes DIY Store).  Go over the O’Bridge viaduct (over the railway line) and turn left at the roundabout at the bottom.  Follow the signs for the A358 to Minehead.  After about one and a half miles you will pass Taunton School on your left and then an Esso Petrol Station.  The Study Centre can be found immediately after the Esso Petrol Station on the right.  The journey takes about three hours from London Heathrow Airport to the Study Centre.

By train

If you are travelling by train from London, you should go to Paddington Railway Station in the Marylebone area of London and take the train to Plymouth or Penzance, which stops at Taunton.  It takes about two hours.  From Taunton Station take a 5-minute taxi ride to the Study Centre situated at 210 Greenway Road.

By coach

If you wish to travel by coach from London Heathrow, go to the coach station, located beside Terminals 2 and 3, where you can book a seat on the National Express Coach to Taunton Bus Station.  The journey takes approximately 3 ½ hours.  From Taunton Bus Station walk to the left where you will see a car park in front of you.  Turn right before the car park and walk to the end of this short road.  Turn left into Corporation Street and a few yards in front of you is a taxi rank, beside an estate agents called Wilkie, May and Tuckwood.  Take a 5-minute taxi ride from here to the Study Centre at 210 Greenway Road.
